Requiem for a Deathwish

I looked him in the eyes. His amazing brown eyes that have always hypnotized me.
Truth is they were much more than brown eyes. They were a little piece of a hazel heaven mixed with Hell’s most vicious shade of a devouring chocolate-brown and a somewhat greenish tone.
I was the only one to see all that beauty in his eyes, though.
Everyone else saw a big empty space. Like staring into a wall.
No one else could see the splendor in his smile, either. No one else ever got to see him smiling, to be honest.
Nobody knew. Nobody knew just how wonderful Brian was. Nobody even knew his name was Brian.
To all those little egotistical disgusting people, he was just Nathaniel Requiem, the most dangerous hybrid creature walking among them. They feared him. They tried their best to stay away from him, even though he wouldn’t do them any harm if they got closer.
He was not dangerous. He was not petrifying. He was just a hybrid .

“Hey love.” He said, placing his hand on my waist. “What haunts your pure mind this stunning evening?”
I sighed and grinned to myself. I’ve always loved hearing him speak that deep way.
“Just memories, my love…” I answered, turning to him.
His other hand found its way to my neck. I trembled like never before.
“What sort of memories, my Queen?” he asked, softly caressing my neckline all the way down to my shoulder, undressing it so to kiss my skin in that area.
I gasped.
“Memories of a time when you and I were us…” I fought the tears with every single bit of remaining courage I still had left inside that black hole I called a heart.
“Why can’t we be like that anymore?” he sighed, looking so deep into my eyes that I could barely breathe.
I looked away.
“Brian, my love…” I started, holding back my tears. “Look what we’ve become…”
He held me even tighter inside of his strong arms.
“All we are is dust in the wind…” he nodded.
“All we are is bullets…”
“All we are is hybrids.” We said in unison.
I turned to him one more time. His fingers were now discovering my breasts underneath the old red dress.
“Your touch still feels the same, my love.” I moaned gently.
“Why do we have to hide on a rooftop?” I inquired a sad stare across my painfully beautiful face.
“We’re not like everybody else, my love.” he answered. “You know that.”
“I do know that. I just don’t understand why we have to cover our love underneath this sheet of hate…”
“To them, we’re war soldiers… we’re machines designed to kill.”
“Kill me, then.” I requested, gazing into his sour lips.
He grinned in response.
“Do it!” I demanded. “If all we are is machines designed to kill, then just finish me! DO IT!”
“That wouldn’t make any of us any happier, my love.” He placed a gentle kiss on my lips.
“Why did we have to fall for each other?” I lamented. “Why did your lips meet mine in an insane ritual of pure lust and greed that would eventually turn into the deepest and most repulsive of the feelings: love?” I yelled, crying and gasping for air – or whatever it is that we hybrids breathe.
He just kissed me passionately. I felt my heart speeding up to the breaking point and then calming down to the beat of the falling rain. I was finally starting to feel more comfortable.
Something cold perforated my back. A desperate sensation of pain went up and down my spine as he kissed me for the last time… that night.
“You know hybrids are immortal, don’t you?” he asked, just before I closed my eyes.
“In a few days you’ll be good as new and this will be just another memory of another Death in vain.”
“I love you, Brian…” I whispered. And then a wave of a feeling I knew too well rushed through my whole body. Unfortunately, I had felt that before and I would feel it again soon enough.
That was my seventh death and wouldn’t be the last.
As long as Brian was by my side, I would always want to die in his arms. It was the best way to end one’s miserable existence: cuddling with Brian, the angel trapped in a beast’s body. That was the body I loved and worshiped. The body I would give myself to. Wicked perfection. Sinful beauty. Mesmerizing tenderness.
For him I’d die a thousand times.
But now I must close my eyes into a deep sleep that will last until his next kiss. And I know that won’t take too long, for he’s addicted to the taste of my lips.

Brian.

Too small to be noticed
but big enough to be killed.
You do have a small heart
but you make me feel
like a small piece of nothing;
guess small things can cry, too.
you're a big piece of something,
too big to be true.

I'm not nearly as strong as you are
and i don't think i can do this.
It has already gone too far...
I'll run from my sins
though i don't know what it means
I can try
just to figure it out.

Too big to be mine
but small enough to sneak
into my small bed
and then kiss my small cheeks.
I'm a small piece of nothing,
too small to be yours.
You're the huge piece of everything
that i adore...

I'll never be as big as you are...
I'm not even big enough to face this.
With your big hands heal my big scars...

I'll keep my small sins,
now I know what it means.
I've finally figured it out...
